History Faculty of Adam Mickiewicz University has a great honour to invite you to the open lecture by Prof. W. Haio Zimmermann PhD., one of the most distinguished researchers of prehistoric construction in Europe, member of EXARC, experimental archaeology organization.
Professor will give an open lecture about continuity of colonization in the region of northern Germany from the Iron Age to the Middle Ages entitled "Settlement continuity on the Geest in the Elbe- Weser Dreieck from the Pre-Roman Iron Age to the Middle Ages". Lecture will take place on 2 June 2015 at 11 o'clock in room 118 in the building of History Faculty of Adam Mickiewicz University at 78 Świętego Marcina Street.
Prof. W. Haio Zimmermann, archaeologist, ethnographer, cultural anthropologist, German philologist, long-term academic lecturer at the University of Hamburg is one of the most distinguished researchers of prehistoric construction in Europe. He is a renowned authority in this field, invited by many research institutions. Since 2009 he has been a President of the Ruralia Committee. Originator and editor of international wooden construction dictionary. Long-term scientific director of Niedersächsisches Institut für historische Küstenforschung in Wilhelmshaven. Ordinary member of Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts Berlin and Römisch-Germanischen Kommission. Author of several books and more than two hundred scientific articles devoted to prehistoric construction.
