The Ignacy Jan Paderewski Music Academy in Poznań and the City of Poznań invite to open lectures and workshops led by prof. Menno van Delft - clavichord, virginal, harpsichord, chamber ensembles. The lectures will be held on December 15, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. and December 16, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at the Olimpia Academic Theater, room 209.
Prof. Menno van Delft is one of the most prominent and valued harpsichordists in the circle of early music. From the beginning of his activity, he dealt with outstanding teachers such as Gustav Leonhardt, Bob van Asperen. As a 22-year-old he became a finalist of the C. Ph. E. Bach in the field of: CLAVICHORD. Soon after, he made his debut at the Early Music Festival in Utrecht. He performs and teaches at master classes in Europe and the United States. He made numerous recordings for the radio and television. He has performed many times during the Bach Festival (Bachfeste) organised by the Neue Bachgesellschaft.
He works as a soloist and chamber musician, collaborating with Marion Verbruggen, Jaap ter Linden, Pieter Wispelwey, Bart Schneemann, Lucia Swarts and Jacques Zoon as well as the Nederlandse Opera, Al Ayre Español, Nederlands Blazersensemble, Cantus Cölln, Koninklijk Concertgebouw-orkest, Nederlands Kamerkoor & Nederlandse Bachvereniging He records for record labels such as "Globe", "Deutsche Harmonia Mundi", "Chandos", "Channel Classics", "Capriccio", "EMI" and "Decca". For "Globe", Menno van Delft together with Johannes Leertouwer recorded six violin sonatas by J.S. Bach and the Musikalisches Opfer with the "Schönbrunn Ensemble" (Marten Root, Johannes Leertouwer and Viola de Hoog). He has also recorded Kunst der Fuge and J.S. Bach's Toccats BWV 910-916. He took part in a phonographic project recording all the key works of Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, awarded in 2003 with the Edison Prize, and the Deutsche Schallplatten Kritik Preis. In 2004, he released the first CD from a series devoted to historic clavichords, containing sonatas and variations by J.G. Müthel on J.A. Hass's clavichord from 1763 from The Russell Collection in Edinburgh for the "Teknon" company. In 1992, Menno van Delft founded "Das Zimmermannsche Caffee", an ensemble focusing on the repertoire of the Rococo period. Along with his vocal ensemble "Jan van Ruusbroec" he also performs the music of the late Renaissance - composers such as William Byrd, Peter Philips and Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck. Menno van Delft is one of the founders and soloist of the "The New Dutch Academy" band.
