Faculty of Medicine of the K. Marcinkowski University of Medicine in Poznań and the City of Poznań would like to invite you to an open lecture by Dr. Philipp Rathert, titled "Epigenetics - how it regulates gene expression independently of DNA". The lecture will take place on 21 November at 11:00 in the Różycki Hall of the Collegium Anatomicum, ul. Święcickiego 6.
Philipp Rathert and his team are investigating the molecular epigenetic mechanisms relevant to the disease. In particular, his research is focused on understanding changes in chromatin packing in different types of cancer. One example of his outstanding accomplishments is his work published in the "Nature" journal, where he reports on the mechanism of chromatin packing changes responsible for resistance to BET inhibitors in the treatment of acute myeloid leukaemia. In addition, Philipp Rathert is an expert in the development and application of functional genetic tools (RNAi or CRISPR/Cas9) in multiplex screening approaches and has many years of experience in protein biochemistry and cell biology. Philipp Rathert also has several years of experience working with the industrial sector and has been a long-term lecturer at the Institute of Biochemistry at the University of Stuttgart.
