Poznań University of Life Sciences and the City of Poznań invite you to an open lecture by prof. Tibor Hartel of Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania in Romania.
Professor Hartel is one of the most recognised European conservation biologists of the young generation. He is also a member of the management group Society for Conservation Biology - Europe Section, a prestigious organisation which deals with scientific bases of nature conservation.
The lecture entitled "Conservation biology in human dominated landscapes: a social - ecological perspective" will be held on Monday, December 8th, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in Runge's Collegium, in ul. Wojska Polskiego 52.
Tibor Hartel - is one of the most recognised European conservation biologists of the young generation (1978); he works as an Associate Professor at Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania, Department of Environmental Studies, Cluj Napoca, Romania.
He was one of the pioneers of introducing information about historical, but very valuable transformations of the landscape, to the conservation of nature. These changes introduced by a man led to creation of huge and fascinating places for many species of plants and animals, which in order to survive require the coexistence with a human and extensive farming (mainly pasturing).
Dr Hartel is a member of the management group Society for Conservation Biology - Europe Section, a prestigious organisation which deals with scientific bases of nature conservation. He has been awarded with a number of prestigious grants and prizes.
He has published 75 works, which have been cited over 800 times and the h - index = 16.
