Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Science and the City of Poznań invite you to an open lecture given by prof. Ingolf Cascorbi. A lecture entitled "Perspective of individualized medicine" will be held on 13 October 2017 at 10:30 in room 3008 in the building of the Medical Biology Center, Rokietnicka Street 8 in Poznań.
Professor Ingolf Cascorbi is the Director of the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, at the Christian Albrecht University in Kiel (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany).
Professor Ingolf Cascorbi graduated from the Faculty of Biochemistry of the Free University of Berlin (1978-1985), after which he began further medical studies (he graduated in 1992, also at the Free University of Berlin). During his medical studies he qualified as a doctor of biochemistry in 1989. From 1994 to 1999 he worked as a research associate at the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology at the Charite University Clinic in Berlin. He obtained his doctorate in 1999 at Humboldt University in Berlin. One year later, Ingolf Cascorbi became a Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Institute of Pharmacology at the University of Greifswald. In 2004 he became a Professor and a Head of the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Kiel.
Professor Cascorbi's research interests are in the areas of the pharmacogenetics of drug metabolising enzymes and membrane transporters, the association with cancers, genetic risk factors of cardiovascular diseases (including their functional characterisation). Professor Ingolf Cascorbi is a co-author of more than 200 scientific papers cited over 11,000 times (Hirsch = 52 Web of Science).
