The Faculty of Theology of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and the City of Poznań invite to an open lecture by Prof. Jean Claude Kaufmann, which will be held:

Professor Jean-Claude Kaufmann is a French sociologist. Since 1977, he has been affiliated with the National Center for Scientific Research, where he works in the Center for the Study of Social Ties. Since the beginning of his academic career, he has specialized in the sociology of everyday life. He treats very mundane issues (like laundry, ironing, cooking, etc.) as a starting point for building a broad sociological theory. As part of his research, he developed his own methodology and method of understanding interviewing, in which empirical data and social theory serve and support each other in their development. Professor Kaufmann has presented the results of his research in dozens of books, translated into many world languages (examples below). He has also been a consultant to the French government and the European Union.
Jean-Claude Kaufmann is the author of more than 30 books and numerous articles. The most important publications include: 'La trame conjugale, analyse du pair par son linge' ('Dirty linen: couples and their laundry'); 'Sociologie du pair'; 'Casseroles, amour et crises. Ce que cuisiner veut dire' ('The Meaning of Cooking); Sex@ mour' ('Love Online').
Books by Prof. Kaufmann were translated into many languages, including English, Italian, Greek, Portuguese, Chinese, Croatian, German, Japanese, Spanish, Czech, Brazilian, Korean, and Russian. Therefore, he is undoubtedly an author recognized and respected all over the world.
