The City of Poznań and University of Social Sciences and Humanities invite you to an open inaugural lecture of Prof. Robert Cialdini from Arizona State University, one of the most famous psychologists in the world. The lecture entitled: 'Influence under conditions of uncertainty - Wywieranie wpływu w warunkach niepewności' will be held on on 2nd October 2014, at 11:00 at University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in Kutrzeby 10 street, Lecture Hall 004.
Prof. Robert Cialdini is one of the most distinguished social psychologists. Extensive scientific knowledge in the area of influence psychology, and over thirty years of research of this topic, have brought him international fame of the expert in the areas of persuasion techniques, principles of cooperation and negotiation tools. He currently works as a W. P. Carey Distinguished Professor of Marketing and Regents' Professor of Psychology at Arizona State University. He also holds the position of President of Influence at Work, an international consulting company which specialises in strategic planning and trainings for organisations based on the programme of the 'six principles of influence'.
Robert Cialdini is known worldwide as the author of the book 'Influence: Science and Practice', which constitutes a result of over 15 years of research and has been a best seller for many years. In his book Professor Cialdini classified methods used to influence people in the form of 6 'principles': principle of reciprocity, commitment and consistency, social proof ('other people do this'), liking (transferring emotions for a person onto a proposition presented by them), authority (we evaluate it according to attributes, and not substantive value of message), scarcity ('we may lack it'). His research on mechanisms of social influence are included in all leading psychology textbooks.
Cialdini is a well-known and incredibly popular social psychologist and at the same time, a charming and cheerful man. He supplemented his scientific research on the theory of influence with an exceptionally interesting practical side, which presents the result of his few years observation of different people and their methods of influencing other people, customers or co-workers. He used this experience while writing his book, and later also in his activity, which consists of lectures for the biggest companies and institutions in the USA and all over the world. Reading of Cialdini is a must for everyone who wishes to intentionally influence other people's behaviour and decisions.
