The Faculty of Instrumental Music and the Faculty of Composition of the I.J. Paderewski Music Academy in Poznań and the City of Poznań would like to invite you to a lecture and a concert " Secrets of la Scala, not just for musicians". Outstanding artists: Beatrice Benzi (piano) and Danilo Rossi (viola) will be talking about the world's most famous opera theatre - and their work. The event will take place on 1 June at 4:00 p.m. in the Presidential Hall of the Music Academy at Święty Marcin 87.
DANILO ROSSI After completing his studies at the young age of 19, Danilo Rossi won a competition to become the first violist of the Teatro alla Scalaorchestra, becoming the youngest musician in the history of the institution to hold such a post.
Winner of the first prize at the "Vittorio Veneto" Competition, twice awarded with an Honorary Diploma by the Accademia Chigiana, member of ECYO (from the age of 16), winner of the second place at the Yuri Bashmet Competition in Moscow. In 2018, awarded the Mauro Ranieri Prize, and in 2021 Classic Voice magazine named him one of Italy's ten most important musical personalities.
As a soloist, Danilo Rossi has performed in the world's most important concert halls alongside some of the greatest conductors of our time, such as Riccardo Muti and Zubin Mehta, but his repertoire is not limited to classical music. Like Giovanni Sollima, the artist does not recognise musical barriers and his numerous tours have taken him to even the most remote corners of the world.
Danilo Rossi has recorded more than 40 albums and many composers have dedicated their works to him. The artist is actively teaching in Europe, Asia and North America, and has been teaching at the Lugano Conservatory (Switzerland) since 2009. His publications are an invaluable aid for young students of the musical art. In 2023, the Ricordi publishing house published a collection of Danilo Rossi's orchestral studies.
Danilo Rossi is also active as a conductor and has been the Artistic Director of the Forlimusicaassociation since 2020.
