Coat of arms of the City of Poznan

Coat of arms of the City of Poznan presents a defensive wall with three towers and an open gate. A Gothic shield with the image of an eagle in a crown is leaning against the middle highest tower, and St. Peter and St. Paul are standing on the side towers. There are six-pointed stars on both sides, crescents beneath them, and in the gate - diagonally crossed keys and an even-armed cross. The whole is consistent with the image on the oldest known seal of the city dated from 1344. A closed crown is placed above the shield with the image of the coat of arms of the City of Poznan.
