Open lecture: "Sustainable Breeding: Balancing Animal Welfare and Resource Efficiency"

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences at the Poznań University of Life Sciences and the City of Poznań invite you to an open lecture by Prof. Klaus Wimmers entitled: "Sustainable Breeding: Balancing Animal Welfare and Resource Efficiency". The lecture will take place on 7 April at 11am at Runge College, ul. Wojska Polskiego 52, Poznań. The lecture will be held in English.

Klaus Wimmers

Prof. Dr. Klaus Wimmers is an expert in the physiological, genetic and epigenetic foundations of trait expression and differentiation, particularly in relation to animal welfare and efficient resource management. As director of the Forschungsinstitut für Nutztierbiologie (FBN) and professor at the University of Rostock, he leads a team working on these topics and actively participates in the Functional Annotation of Animal Genomes (FAANG) initiatives, contributing to efforts aimed at genome annotation in pigs and chickens.
