Open lecture: "Neuromotricity and Research: BAPNE as an Educational Resource"

The Faculty of Composition, Conducting, Vocal Studies, Music Theory, and Artistic Education at the I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, in collaboration with the City of Poznań, cordially invites you to an open lecture by Dr Francisco Javier Romero Naranjo titled: "Neuromotricity and Research: BAPNE as an Educational Resource". The lecture will take place on 6 March 2025 at 10:15 AM in Aula Nova of the Academy of Music, located at pl. S. Stuligrosza 1, Poznań. Interpretation into Polish will be provided.

dr Francisco Javier Romero Naranjo

Dr Francisco Javier Romero Naranjo is the creator of the internationally renowned BAPNE Method - a method of cognitive, socio-emotional, psychomotor, and neurorehabilitation stimulation based on neuromotricity. The method utilises body percussion as a didactic tool focused on the possible stimulation of cognitive and executive functions. Through five core pillars (B: Biomechanics, A: Anatomy, P: Psychology, N: Neuroscience, E: Ethnomusicology), Dr Romero justifies, with a focus on neuromotricity, the role of the body in cognitive stimulation.

His research aligns with two principal areas of study: Neuromotricity and executive functions through the BAPNE method. Music and movement in different cultures through body percussion. Dr Romero has participated in over ten research projects, leading to significant scientific publications. His work has been published by institutions such as Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Sociedad Española de Musicología (SEDEM), Elsevier, among others. International academic databases, including Web of Science and Scopus, recognise him as the most active author in the field of neuromotricity and body percussion worldwide. He has been invited to deliver lectures and courses in countries such as the USA, Japan, Venezuela, Italy, Paraguay, Mexico, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Norway, Denmark, and Colombia. Dr Romero serves as an advisor to various countries and ministries, as well as a trainer for the Choir and Orchestra System (Prince of Asturias Award) and an academic consultant for this institution.

His academic contributions include: over 200 scientific articles, 20 books, 3,000 international academic citations. Within Web of Science, he has published over 50 high-impact articles as a leading researcher in Neuromotricity (BAPNE Method).
