Schooling

The school education system in Poznan includes 464 primary, lower-secondary, upper-secondary and post-secondary schools. These are attended by 81.2 thousand children, youths and adults. Every third student was educated at primary school, every four at a general secondary school and every fifth student at a lower secondary school. General secondary schools are most popular among the youth, and are attended by 57% of students educated at the secondary and post-secondary level. 9% percent of students learn at technical secondary schools and 3% at basic vocational schools. Adults complete their education in 101 upper-secondary and post-secondary schools, mainly in general secondary and post-secondary schools where 90% of adult learners continued their education. Each year, 13 thousand students graduate from Poznan schools, including one third with upper secondary education.
