Institutions of higher education

Poznan is one of the most important academic and scientific hubs in Poland. There are 130 thousand students studying at 28 higher education institutions, including almost 2.5 thousand foreigners, mainly from the European countries. Every third student is studying at the largest university, namely the Adam Mickiewicz University.  Educational offer includes more than 230 faculties of economics, humanities, natural sciences, engineering, medicine, agriculture, arts and sports.

The high position of Poznan among academic centres in Poland is corroborated in higher education institutions rankings. In the ranking published by "Rzeczpospolita" daily newspaper and "Perspektywy" weekly magazine, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan University of Medical Sciences, Poznan University of Economics, Poznan University of Life Sciences, University School of Physical Education in Poznan each year take the leading positions in their categories at the national level. Internationally, the Adam Mickiewicz University was included in the Webometrics ranking of the Highest Council of Scientific Research in Madrid, and the Poznan University of Economics in the international ranking of faculties of the MBA Eduniversal - Best Masters and MBA Worldwide.

Poznan higher education institutions implement an ambitious development program, including the quality of education, management and expansion of the teaching and research base.

The City of Poznan is actively cooperating with the Poznan academic and scientific environment, implementing, among other things, joint research projects, programmes of scholarships, internships and apprenticeships, student competitions, support for research projects and open lectures and academic entrepreneurship.
