The Adam Mickiewicz University and the City of Poznan invite you to a lecture titled "L'Europe, il mercato ei diritti" which will be delivered by prof. Giovanni Maria Flick - a prominent Italian jurist, scientist, journalist and politician. The lecture will be held on 13 May 2014 at 3 p.m. in The Professor Zygmunt Ziembiński Lecture Hall at the Faculty of Law and Administration, Collegium Iuridicum Novum, al. Niepodległości 53.
In the years 1996-1998 he was the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Italy, in the government of Romano Prodi. On 14 February 2000 he was appointed to the Constitutional Tribunal, since November 2005 he was its vice-president, and from November 2008 to February 2009 he held the position of the president. In 2013 he supported the creation of Democratic Centre.
Giovanni Maria Flick was born on 7 November 1940 in Ciriè, Italy. He is a prominent Italian jurist, scientist, journalist and politician. In 1962, he completed law studies at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. He obtained the title of a professor in 1978. He devoted himself to scientific career, working as a lecturer in criminal law at the University of Milan and at the universities of Messina, Perugia and Rome. Since 1976, he also worked as a lawyer.

He is the author of monographs, essays, articles, commentaries, reports, and presentations at national and international conferences and seminars, on criminal law (especially in relation to economic organized crime), as well as on the issue of relationship between globalization and fundamental rights.
For many years he published essays in newspapers "Il Sole 24 Ore" (until 1996) and "La Stampa" (until 2000), on the topics of justice, relationships between criminal law and economy, as well as organized crime and human rights.
