Poznań best in prestigious ranking

Oxford Economics analysts published their latest report, in which they surveyed 1,000 metropolises around the world. Among Polish cities, Poznań came first in the economics category.

Oxford Economics is an independent economic consultancy agency. In its latest report, it surveyed 1,000 metropolises from around the world. Cities were evaluated in 5 categories: economics, human capital, quality of life, environment, administration.

The ranking included 11 cities from Poland. The capital of Wielkopolska received the best marks in the economy category. This gave it 174th place, the highest among Polish cities. Just behind Poznań were: Wrocław and Krakow - ranked 188 and 232 respectively.

- The high marks in the economy category confirm Poznań's strong position as a city that is a good place to do business and has significant investment potential. This is another international ranking which reflects our development - says Jacek Jaskowiak, Mayor of Poznań.

In the economics category, factors such as size and growth of GDP, GDP per capita, employment, as well as stability and economic diversity were taken into account.

In the general classification of the "Global Cities Index' report, Poznań was ranked 2nd among Polish cities (after Warsaw) and 210th in the overall ranking.
