Opis

We invite you to the office of our sponsor VIER GmbH at Concordia Design, Zwierzyniecka 3 Street. The meeting will take place on March 17, 2025. The main door will be open from 5:45 PM to 06:00 PM and if someone is late please write to us on slack

#1: Krzysztof Biskupski
Topic: GoLang in IoT, what is its place and possible applications

- Defining the concept of Iot (what is hidden under this abbreviation) - 3XA
- Using Go at the level of individual "layers" (how it looks at the level of drivers - project Tiny GO, and how at the level of Edges and higher-order nodes)
- Communication in Iot with protocols a few words (CoA and /MQTT i.e. REST and queues for IoT)
- Application of data processing what models are most useful - how does Go deal with it.
- Summary

#2: Mateusz Hawrus
Topic: How I learned to stop worrying and love the generics in Go. Writing a type safe validation library.

Chances are you've used some kind of a validation library in Go, perhaps the most popular: govalidator should ring a bell. Most of the existing solutions utilize JSON tags for validation rules definition and reflection in runtime to enforce these rules, YUCK!

Is this the best modern Go can offer though?
We'll be exploring the good, the bad and the ugly of the past solutions and how we can leverage generics to create type safe, general use validation API which is easy to reason about

#3: William (Bill) Kennedy [online]
Topic: K8s CPU Limits Deconstructed For Go Software

In this talk, Bill will explain how setting CPU limits in K8s can affect your Go software's performance. He will share how the Go scheduler works, CPU and IO bound workloads function, and then how K8s CPU limits work under the covers. With this information presented, Bill will run a Go service in K8s and experiment with K8s and Go settings to see how the performance of the Go service changes. We will cover:

- Go scheduler and work load semantics.
- K8s CPU limit semantics.
- Experimenting with Go and K8s settings.

The sponsor of the meeting is VIER GmbH.
