Győr (Hungary) is the major city in the North-West Hungary, sixth in size in the country. It lies in the middle of the way between Vienna and Budapest, at one of the major routes of the Central Europe. It is one of the major administrative and cultural centres in Hungary, and also a university town (since 2002) and a popular tourist destination. We have thermal springs and a zoological garden. Győr enjoys its beautiful baroque architecture. The city received an award for the input in the protection of the historic heritage. The Kaptalan Hill is a historic centre, where three rivers converge: Moson-Danube, Rába and Rábca. Győr managed to attract a lot of investment from abroad, especially from international motor concerns (influence of the town's proximity to the Austrian and Slovakian borders and its qualified personnel); several large local companies also developed here. The lion's share of the production is exported.
