Ireland v Italia - The Final Showdown in Poznan

More than a dozen recent days undoubtedly provided us - the inhabitants of Poznań - many positive emotions. From June 8, ie from the date of the tournament, became the center of Poznan football matches.
Yesterday, Monday June 18, at the stadium on Bulgarska street the last game was played in the UEFA EURO 2012 ™ championships. This time, in the last match of group C, Ireland played Italy. It is estimated that in the city at that time there were over 25 000 Irish and Italians around 6000. The stadium attendance boasted over 35 thousand fans.
The match ended 0:2 in favour of the Italians ending with a spectacular goal from Mario Bollatelli. Football fans from Ireland as always were many times more impressive than their football team, they did the Poznan and just like they did in Gdansk a few days previously they sang and cheered throughout up to the very end and beyond. When interviewed post match many fans reported not caring about who won or lost in this match, what was important to have a lot of Ireland's famous craic and football camaraderie. During the final match in Poznan for the UEFA EURO 2012 ™ championships, despite being the losing team, the fans from the Emerald Isle once again proved that they have possibly the best supporters in the world.
