Adam Mickiewicz University has participated in the Erasmus programme (previously called Socrates-Erasmus Programme) ever since it was launched in Poland in 1998. Over the years AMU signed almost 350 agreements with higher education institutions in the framework of the Erasmus programme. International students coming to study at AMU within the Erasmus programme, other exchange agreements and as free movers are assisted not only by AMU International Office and Erasmus coordinators but also by Polish students. For all AMU international students eager to learn Polish language and culture free courses are available.

In order to strengthen the existing international community at our University a special centre called AMU-PIE was created. AMU-PIE coordinates regular course units taught in English and some in other international languages. The course units are offered both to international and Polish students who wish to study abroad.
